Gaze presents a retrospective of 20 years of work by Jenny Saville, focusing on the representation of the human body. Inspired by both classical and Christian iconography as well as the great masters (Leonardo, Raphael, Picasso, Bacon, Freud), her work combines tradition and contemporary approaches. Her paintings explore the tension between the idealization and distortion of the body, questioning standards of beauty and highlighting the materiality and physicality of the figure.
