In the Beginning is a collection of three early books by photographer Roe Ethridge (*County Line*, *Orange Grove*, and *Spare Bedroom*), originally published between 2004 and 2005. The work explores everyday American life through images of abandoned orchards, suburban spaces, and domestic interiors, blending the ordinary with the uncanny. This reissue showcases the origins of Ethridge’s signature style and accompanies a recent exhibition of his work.
